I was looking for a solution to a Drupal Ubercart issue I was having, when I came across this gem:
If, like me, you are a big computer game fan, making the move to Linux can leave you feeling a little left out. No more BioShock, Crysis, Spore, etc. Through the efforts of people like TransGaming, Codeweavers and the wine project, a fair number of windows games can be played on Linux. Except for a very few game studios like ID and Bioware in their Neverwinter Nights days, no-one seems to be writing for Linux itself.
I have just finished signing up for the anti-Phorm petition over at the UK governments epetition website. If you do not know what/what Phorm is, read these links:

As someone explained what they do in layman's terms:
I was recently updating some features of the Missing List, specifically how the UK Postcodes are handled. Due to the nature of the site, it was requested that only certain roles had access to full postcodes not entered by the current user (i.e. only the main Administrator). Everyone else would only get the first part of the postcode (e.g. EC1V instead of EC1V 4PY). This was recently requested to be expanded to include other roles.
I had a minor accident in my car today. I was approaching a crossroads to go straight across. The junction had traffic lights, which were green to me and the oncoming traffic. The first car in the opposite direction hadn't noticed the light had changed. As I got up to the lights, he realised they had changed and shot forward, then he turned to his right, crossing my lane in front of me. I braked and turned to my right slightly and just made it around the back of his car, missing him. Unfortunately, there was another driver right up his arse, also turning right, which I didn't miss.
Well, the new year has started and I hope it goes better than the last ended. I'm currently unemployed, which means that I should have more time to work on this site and a couple of others I have input on.
There, I said it. Merry Christmas. Not Happy Holidays, or some other ultra PC mustn't upset the $minority bullshit. I am not even Christian (I'm an athiest if you want to know), but to me this is Christmas even though I am not celebrating the supposed birthday of some person who may or may not have existed, the Winter Solstice or even the re-birth of Yule, the north european pagan sun god (look it up).
While Drupal is a fantastic piece of software, there is one area in which it is truly terrible - searching. The built-in search is barely able to search Title and Body fields, let alone CCK or custom fields. Ohh, and if you are looking for Bournemouth for example, Bourne, bourne*, etc wont work. You have to use the full word you are looking for.
I like to think that I have a fair understanding of the workings of Views for Drupal 5. Not a very in-depth one, but enough to get me where I want to go. Having installed Drupal 6 here, I installed Views 2. Boy was I in for a surprise!
This website used to run on an old P4 1.6GHz at home. Now it's running on a Core2 Duo 2.4GHz dedicated server. The reason? The old system doesn't boot any more. I think the CPU is fried, or it could be the motherboard (don't have another P4 CPU or mobo to try).
