Gaming on Linux

Fred's picture

If, like me, you are a big computer game fan, making the move to Linux can leave you feeling a little left out. No more BioShock, Crysis, Spore, etc. Through the efforts of people like TransGaming, Codeweavers and the wine project, a fair number of windows games can be played on Linux. Except for a very few game studios like ID and Bioware in their Neverwinter Nights days, no-one seems to be writing for Linux itself.

Petition to stop Phorm Alliance with UK ISPs

Fred's picture

I have just finished signing up for the anti-Phorm petition over at the UK governments epetition website. If you do not know what/what Phorm is, read these links:

As someone explained what they do in layman's terms:

Minor car accident

Fred's picture

I had a minor accident in my car today. I was approaching a crossroads to go straight across. The junction had traffic lights, which were green to me and the oncoming traffic. The first car in the opposite direction hadn't noticed the light had changed. As I got up to the lights, he realised they had changed and shot forward, then he turned to his right, crossing my lane in front of me. I braked and turned to my right slightly and just made it around the back of his car, missing him. Unfortunately, there was another driver right up his arse, also turning right, which I didn't miss.

Another new year

Fred's picture

Well, the new year has started and I hope it goes better than the last ended. I'm currently unemployed, which means that I should have more time to work on this site and a couple of others I have input on.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Fred's picture

There, I said it. Merry Christmas. Not Happy Holidays, or some other ultra PC mustn't upset the $minority bullshit. I am not even Christian (I'm an athiest if you want to know), but to me this is Christmas even though  I am not celebrating the supposed birthday of some person who may or may not have existed, the Winter Solstice or even the re-birth of Yule, the north european pagan sun god (look it up).
