I like to think that I have a fair understanding of the workings of Views for Drupal 5. Not a very in-depth one, but enough to get me where I want to go. Having installed Drupal 6 here, I installed Views 2. Boy was I in for a surprise!
The Admin screen for Views for Drupal 5 & 6 is, in my mind, simple although a bit long. The Admin screen for Views 2 has none of that. Just a bunch of boxes in the middle of the page, and lots and lots of fun Ajax. It took me a long time just to work out what was where, and what the heck I was supposed to do!
I finally managed to get something working for my rather pathetic attempt at a Drupal based Wiki. I'm quite pleased with the results as it is what I was aiming for. However, I think it took longer to work out what was where than actually creating the view itself! Thinking about it, that's probably the desired result - once you are used to the Admin screen of Views 2, it is remarkably simple to generate the view.
Kudos to the guys who created Views 2, and I look forward to experimenting with it some more.
